Toyota LandCruiser 70 Series (2007–2015)

The 70 Series has earned its reputation the hard way — by going where other vehicles won't and coming back without complaint. Whether you're in a 76 Series wagon, a 78 Series Troop Carrier, or a 79 Series single or dual cab, the appeal is the same: a genuine, no-nonsense workhorse built to be loaded up, worked hard, and relied on.

But "built tough" and "built to its full potential" aren't the same thing. These 4.5L V8s left the factory deliberately conservative — detuned for global emissions targets and a one-size-fits-all market. That leaves real, usable performance on the table, and a driveline that can be made to work better, last longer, and tow with far less stress.

That's where we come in.

Our 70 Series Upgrades

We don't bolt parts on and hope. Every upgrade we offer is chosen to address a specific limitation of the platform, and every package is tuned to work as a complete system — not a collection of mismatched modifications.

Tuning

The foundation of everything we do. With no DPF in the way, these engines respond exceptionally well to a properly developed tune — sharper throttle response, more power and torque where you actually use it, and improved driveability under load. Done right, it's the single biggest change you'll feel — towing, touring, or daily driving.

Exhaust

The factory exhaust is a known restriction. A correctly sized aftermarket system reduces exhaust gas temperatures, improves flow, and lets the engine breathe — particularly valuable on long climbs and heavy tows. It also gives the V8 the note it always should have had.

Turbo

For owners chasing more than a tune alone can safely deliver, an upgraded turbo extends the engine's capability — more airflow, stronger mid-range, and better high-load performance with the right supporting mods. Matched and tuned properly, it transforms how the vehicle pulls.

Intercooler

More air and more fuel mean more heat. An upgraded intercooler keeps intake temperatures down, which protects the engine, supports consistent power, and matters most in exactly the conditions a 70 Series gets used in — heat, weight, and distance.

Injectors

Bigger power needs adequate fuelling. Upgraded injectors ensure the fuel system can keep up with the airflow gains from a turbo and tune, delivering clean, controlled combustion rather than running the factory injectors beyond their limits.

Clutch

The factory clutch is one of the first things to give up once torque climbs — especially under towing or off-road load. An upgraded clutch handles the increased output without the slip, fade, or premature wear that comes from asking a standard component to do more than it was rated for.

Why stage it?

Because the right build depends on how you use the vehicle. A daily-driven tourer has different needs to a dedicated tow rig or a worked ute. Our staged approach lets you start where it makes sense and build with confidence — every stage is engineered to complement the next, so nothing gets wasted.

Talk to us about your 70 Series and how you use it. We'll point you to the build that's right for the work you're asking it to do.

Optional Upgrades

Beyond tuning and exhaust upgrades, we offer a range of optional enhancements to further boost your 70 Series Landcruiser's performance and functionality. These include:

  • Redarc Brake Controller: Essential for towing and improving braking performance.
  • Lift Kit Installations: Featuring top brands like Fulcrum Suspension, Formula 4x4, RAW, and Bilstein for superior off-road capability.
  • Vehicle-Specific Catch Can Kits: To protect your engine from harmful contaminants.
  • Forward-Facing Snorkel Head: For improved airflow and reduced intake restrictions, especially important for tuned vehicles.

Please note: all 70 series vehicles will require a free flowing, upgraded exhaust prior to tuning. This can be added to any package if you do not already have a aftermarket exhaust installed. Please call us to discuss.

Please also note: The before & after figures shown are at the engine and are calculated by percentage increase over manufacturer quoted power. Every tune is individually tailored to the vehicle, therefore power & torque can vary from vehicle to vehicle depending on mileage, engine condition, wheel size etc. The above figures are to be treated as examples only.
